Comparing 2018 Lincoln Navigator to 2018 Cadillac Escalade

Redesigned for the 2015 model year, Cadillac Escalade features minor changes for 2017. The Rear Camera Mirror introduced in the brand's CT6 is available, as is Automatic Parking Assist. Aesthetic changes include two new exterior colors and new 22-inch wheel offerings. Escalade continues to be powered by a 6.2L V8 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The most significant changes for 2018 are expected to be a new 10-speed automatic transmission replacing the 8-speed and modification of the Full-Speed Range Adaptive Cruise Control. For 2018, the adaptive cruise control will resume and engage from a stop, and will also have the ability to be switched to regular cruise control.

Competitive Perception

In much of its consumer-facing and media materials, Cadillac boasts that its 6.2L V8 engine can propel Escalade 0-60 mph in under six seconds. It alsoenables Escalade to tow up to 8,300 lbs.(1) and delivers a maximum payload of just over 1,500 lbs.

Escalade delivers power when you need it most. The AUTO mode in the available 4-wheel drive switches seamlessly between 2WD and 4WD for everyday driving. A 4 HI mode is ideal for challenging road conditions, and 4 LOW comes in handy when trailering.

It plays a single DVD on dualLCD screens and features two wireless headphones and a single remote, allowing second-row passengers to enjoy their favorite entertainment without disturbing those in the front seats.

Lincoln Reality

Clients don't purchase SUVs based on 0-60 mph times. Rather, they are looking for a vehicle that can comfortably transport their family and their belongings. New for 2018, the Twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine in Lincoln Navigator is more than up to the task, delivering best-in-class(2) 450 horsepower and delivering best-in-class(2) 510 lb.-ft. of torque.(3) Paired with an all-new 10-speed automatic transmission, this combination delivers power and fuel efficiency.

The position of the display can also be adjusted for optimal viewing preference.Navigator also features adaptive cruise control. It automatically slows the vehicle in stop-and-go traffic and resumes speed when traffic allows.

For even greater customization, 30-way power adjustment with Active Motion® massaging feature is available on these models. Plus, Lincoln Embrace welcomes the driver by illuminating the door handles, the Lincoln Star Welcome Mat, additional exterior and interior lighting - even the buckles for the safety belts.Lincoln Navigator rewards second-row passengers with standard captain's chairs with tilt, slide and passthrough. A center console, heated captain's chairs and 40/20/40 split bench with PowerFold® are also available at no extra charge. The one-touch tilting feature in the second-row outboard seats enables effortless access to the third row without having to remove child-safety seats.
